The graduation result must have been passed not earlier than 1 January 2023 and not later than 1 September 2026, both dates inclusive.
This passing-date condition is important: having a graduation degree alone is not sufficient if it falls outside the notified passing window.
Candidates comparing graduate-level opportunities can also read the Government Jobs After Graduation guide.
Age Limit
The normal age requirement is:
- Minimum age: 20 years
- Maximum age: 28 years
- Age reckoning date: 1 September 2026
- Eligible date-of-birth window for the normal age band: 2 September 1998 to 1 September 2006, both dates inclusive.

| OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) | 3 years |
| Persons with Benchmark Disabilities | 10 years |
| Widows, divorced women and women legally separated from husbands who have not remarried | Up to 35 years for General/EWS, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC/ST |
Use the Regal Naukri Age Calculator with 1 September 2026 as the cut-off date if you want to calculate your exact age before checking the applicable category rule.
Previous Apprenticeship and Work-Experience Restriction
Candidates are not eligible if they have already undergone apprenticeship training with Canara Bank or another organisation, are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, or had an earlier apprenticeship terminated because of their own fault.
Candidates who have one year or more of training or job experience after completion of the qualifying educational qualification are also not eligible for this apprenticeship engagement.
This is an exclusion condition; prior work experience is not a minimum eligibility requirement.
Selection Process
There is no separate written recruitment examination mentioned in the official advertisement for this engagement.
The State-wise merit list is prepared in descending order using the marks or percentage obtained in the Class 12 (HSC/10+2) or Diploma examination. If two or more candidates have the same percentage, they are ranked by age in descending order.
The notified minimum qualifying marks for the Class 12/Diploma merit basis are:
| Category | Minimum qualifying marks |
|---|---|
| General / EWS / OBC | 60% |
| SC / ST / PwBD | 55% |
The Bank specifically states that fractions are not rounded up: 59.99% is treated as below 60%, and 54.99% is treated as below 55%.
If your marks are shown as raw marks, the Percentage Calculator can help with the arithmetic. If your academic record uses CGPA/OGPA, use the CGPA to Percentage Calculator only with the conversion rule officially prescribed by your board or university.
Final Selection Is Subject To
- verification of eligibility and information entered in the application;
- qualifying the local-language test where applicable; and
- being declared medically fit under the Bank's requirements.
Local Language Requirement
Candidates who produce a Class 10 or Class 12 marksheet/certificate showing that they studied the specified local language for the State selected are not required to take the local-language test.
Other candidates must qualify the local-language test during the document-verification process. Failure to qualify the required language test prevents engagement as an apprentice.
Application Fee
| Category | Fee / Intimation Charges |
|---|---|
| SC / ST / PwBD | Nil |
| All other candidates | ₹500 |
The ₹500 amount includes intimation charges and is non-refundable according to the advertisement.
Stipend and Training Conditions
Selected apprentices receive a monthly stipend of ₹16,650 during the 12-month apprenticeship period.
The advertisement states that:
- Canara Bank pays ₹10,500 per month into the apprentice's account;
- the Government share of ₹6,150 is credited through DBT under the applicable guidelines;
- apprentices are not entitled to other employee allowances or benefits; and
- apprentices are not treated as employees of Canara Bank.
