Who Can Apply?

This recruitment is mainly aimed at officers already serving in eligible government, court, tribunal, PSU, autonomous-body or comparable organisations and meeting the post-specific regular-service conditions for deputation / absorption.

The precise feeder-grade service requirement differs by post, so candidates should check the current APTEL vacancy circular and the applicable APTEL service rules before forwarding an application.

Post-wise Eligibility Guide

Deputy Registrar

APTEL's recent recruitment rules/circulars require a degree in Law from a recognised university or equivalent together with the prescribed regular service in an analogous or eligible feeder post. Eligible routes include service in specified higher pay levels or qualifying judicial/registry service, depending on the source cadre.

Director (Administration)

The Director (Administration) post is a senior administrative position. APTEL's service rules/recent official circulars prescribe eligible regular service in an analogous or feeder-level post and experience in areas such as administration, personnel management, establishment matters, accounting and protocol.

Principal Private Secretary

The post requires the prescribed government/court service background. APTEL's rules also require English stenography speed of 120 words per minute and knowledge of computers for the deputation/absorption route.

Court Master

The Court Master post requires a Bachelor's degree, eligible regular service in the prescribed grade, English stenography at 100 words per minute, and computer knowledge under APTEL's recent official recruitment rules.

Judicial Assistant (Filing)

Applicants need the prescribed eligible service background together with a degree in Law from a recognised university or equivalent and knowledge of computers.

Librarian

The Librarian post requires the prescribed deputation service eligibility, a degree in Library Science, five years' experience as Librarian or Assistant Librarian in an eligible institution, and knowledge of computers.

Stenographer Grade-D

The current vacancy includes one Stenographer Grade-D post. Applicants applying through the notified deputation/absorption route must satisfy the applicable feeder-service and skill conditions under APTEL's recruitment rules. Candidates should verify the exact current circular before relying on direct-recruitment age or skill-test provisions.

Age Limit

For appointment on deputation, APTEL's service rules state that the candidate should not exceed 56 years of age on the closing date for receipt of applications.

For this recruitment, candidates should therefore calculate age as on 28 October 2026.

You can use Regal Naukri's Age Calculator for the date calculation, but APTEL's own determination of eligibility is final.

Deputation / Absorption Terms

APTEL's recent official vacancy circulars state that:

  • deputation is governed by applicable Central Government / DoPT instructions;
  • the deputation period, including immediately preceding ex-cadre deputation where applicable, is generally five years;
  • absorption is governed by the relevant recruitment rules;
  • officers must satisfy the service conditions for the particular post;
  • selection is based on scrutiny under the applicable recruitment rules and competent selection process.

This is not a normal open competitive examination recruitment for fresh candidates.

Selection Process

The current recruitment is based on deputation / absorption eligibility and scrutiny of service records. APTEL's service rules provide for selection through the competent committee for the respective post.

No separate competitive written examination is stated on the current APTEL Careers entry.

Application Fee

The current APTEL Careers listing does not state an application fee for these deputation/absorption posts. Candidates should not make any payment based on an unofficial website or message.
