Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board has announced one of its largest fresh recruitment drives of the year through Advertisement No. 06/2026, combining technical Junior Engineer vacancies with a substantial intake of Multi-Tasking Staff across Delhi government departments and local bodies. The notification covers 1,260 tentative vacancies, including 185 Junior Engineer (Electric/Electrical) posts and 1,075 MTS, MTS Aaya (Female) and MTS General Duty posts. Online applications are scheduled to open on 12 November 2026 at 12:00 noon and remain available until 11 December 2026 at 11:59 PM. This recruitment is especially relevant to two different candidate groups: Class 10-level applicants looking for Pay Level 1 MTS opportunities, and Electrical Engineering diploma or degree holders targeting JE posts in departments such as NDMC, MCD, Delhi Transco and DUSIB. Basic eligibility varies by the department selected, so candidates should match their qualification and experience with the exact post preference before applying. DSSSB has also published the examination structure: MTS candidates will face a one-tier general examination, while JE candidates will go through a two-tier technical examination. The application is online only through the DSSSB registration portal.

Educational Qualification

The basic qualification depends on the post and department selected.

Post groupBasic requirement
MTS / MTS Aaya / MTS General DutyMatriculation/Class 10 or equivalent for most departments; the DUSIB MTS entry also permits the notified ITI route
Junior Engineer (Electric/Electrical)Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering as prescribed for the selected department

Some JE diploma routes require relevant professional experience. Candidates should read the department-specific eligibility row in the official advertisement before choosing preferences.

Age Limit

For the MTS group, the normal age range is 18 to 27 years. Most JE entries also use an 18 to 27 years range, while the NDMC Junior Engineer (Electric) entry allows 18 to 32 years. Category, government-service and other applicable relaxations are governed by the advertisement.

Eligibility in terms of age, qualification and experience is determined with reference to 11 December 2026, the notified closing date, unless a specific rule in the advertisement states otherwise.

Salary and Pay Level

MTS posts are generally placed in Pay Level 1, ₹18,000–₹56,900. JE pay varies by department. The notified JE entries include Pay Level 6, Delhi Transco's Pay Level 8 scale, and the DAMB scale stated in the detailed advertisement.

Because the JE pay is not uniform across all participating departments, candidates should use the pay attached to their exact department preference rather than treating the combined recruitment as one salary scale.

Application Fee

The application fee is ₹100. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD and eligible Ex-Servicemen categories are exempt from the application fee under the notification. Fee payment for candidates who are required to pay must be made through the prescribed SBI e-pay route.

Selection Process

DSSSB will conduct separate combined examinations for the two post codes.

Post codePost groupSelection examination
809/26Junior Engineer (Electric/Electrical)Two-Tier Technical examination
810/26MTS / MTS Aaya / MTS General DutyOne-Tier General examination

Department/post preferences are to be submitted at the e-dossier stage. Eligibility can differ between departments under the same post code, so candidates must ensure that they satisfy the requirements of every preference they select.
