Qualification and Experience
Sector Expert — Standards & Labelling (S&L)
Candidates need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade from a recognised university or institution, along with a Postgraduate/Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Energy Planning, Energy Management, Sustainable Energy, Environmental Studies or Environment Science.
BEE prefers candidates who are certified Energy Auditors or Energy Managers. Applicants must have at least five years of post-qualification domain experience in areas such as energy management, operations and maintenance, technical evaluation of energy savings, standards for appliances and equipment, promotion or development.
Sector Expert — ADEETIE
The essential academic route is a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade, plus a relevant Postgraduate/Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Energy Planning, Energy Management, Sustainable Energy, Environmental Studies or Environment Science.
A BEE Energy Auditor/Manager certification is desirable. The candidate must have at least five years of post-qualification domain experience in MSME.
Sector Expert — ECSBC / Buildings
Candidates need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology or Architecture with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade, along with a relevant Postgraduate/Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Energy Planning, Energy Management, Sustainable Energy, Environmental Studies or Environment Science.
BEE lists Energy Auditor/Manager certification, ECBC Master Trainer status, CMVP, IGBC/LEED/GRIHA certification and knowledge of building energy-efficiency technologies as desirable credentials. The post requires at least five years of post-qualification domain experience relating to energy management, technical evaluation of energy saving, ECBC compliance, building-energy simulation software or green-building ratings.
Sector Expert — Artificial Intelligence
Candidates need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science or an allied discipline with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade, plus a Postgraduate/Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, AI & ML or Data Analytics.
The post requires at least five years of post-qualification domain experience in AI/Data Analytics applications relevant to the energy sector.
Project Engineer — National Exam Coordinator (NECA)
Candidates need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade from a recognised university or institution.
The post requires at least one year of post-qualification domain experience in conducting examinations and in energy management, auditing or related work. BEE states that a valid GATE score, BEE Energy Auditor/Manager certification and a relevant Postgraduate/Master's degree are desirable.
Because the five positions have materially different experience requirements, the combined Jobs Manager experience field is intentionally not flattened into one number.
Candidates who want to calculate their exact post-qualification service period can use the Work Experience Calculator after checking which experience BEE accepts for their chosen post.
Age Limit
BEE states that age and experience will be reckoned on the closing date for receipt of applications.
| Post | Maximum Age on 17 November 2026 |
|---|---|
| Sector Expert — all four divisions | 35 years |
| Project Engineer — NECA | 30 years |
No separate category-wise age relaxation is stated in this circular. Candidates should therefore rely on the age conditions printed in the official BEE document.
You can use Regal Naukri's Age Calculator to calculate your age as on 17 November 2026 before comparing it with the applicable limit.
Remuneration and Contract Terms
| Post | Consolidated Remuneration |
|---|---|
| Sector Expert | ₹1,00,000 per month |
| Project Engineer | ₹60,000 per month |
The engagement is purely contractual and co-terminus and does not create any right to regularisation in BEE or the Government of India. BEE states that annual renewal of the contract may be considered on the basis of satisfactory performance.
Because the two post groups have different remuneration, the combined salary field in JobPosting metadata is left blank rather than presenting a misleading single salary range.
Selection Process
BEE will first apply its shortlisting criteria. Merely meeting the minimum eligibility conditions does not guarantee that an applicant will be called.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interaction as part of the selection process.
The vacancy circular also states that, in exceptional cases involving candidates of outstanding overall merit, the Screening/Interview Committee may consider deviation from the prescribed eligibility criteria if the reasons are recorded and the competent authority ratifies the decision.
There is no written examination mentioned for this contractual recruitment.
Application Fee
The detailed BEE vacancy circular does not specify an application fee for these five positions.
Candidates should not make any payment based on an unofficial website or message. If BEE publishes a later corrigendum or instruction, the current official recruitment page should be followed.
Documents Required
The prescribed Annexure-I and the circular specify the supporting material to be sent with the application. Candidates should prepare:
| Document / Record | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Prescribed Annexure-I application / CV proforma | Required |
| Detailed CV | Required |
| Two passport-size photographs | Required |
| Educational certificates | Self-attested copies |
| Domain experience certificates | Required |
| BEE Energy Auditor / Manager certificate | Where applicable |
| Valid score card | Where applicable, such as GATE preference for Project Engineer |
| Additional supporting sheets | Where space in the proforma is insufficient |
The form also asks candidates to provide detailed employment history, remuneration and nature of duties. Applicants for technical posts should clearly explain relevant domain work and attach supporting evidence.
The Government Job Document Checklist can help organise the documents, but the official Annexure-I remains the controlling list.
