Bengaluru Rural District Court has announced 86 vacancies across four recruitment notices: Typist, Typist-Copyist, Process Server and Peon. The notifications are dated 30 September 2026, and the application period runs from 7 October to 6 November 2026. Online submission closes at 11:59 pm on 6 November; payment of the applicable fee must also be completed by that date.
There are two distinct entry routes. SSLC-qualified candidates can consider the Process Server and Peon vacancies, while the typing posts require II PUC or the specified diploma/equivalent together with Kannada and English typewriting qualifications. The recruitment also includes a five-year one-time concession in the upper age limit. Read the requirements for your chosen post before deciding whether to apply.
Status on 2 October 2026: Applications have not opened. Use the court's official recruitment page from 7 October to access the relevant application facility.

| Process Server | ADM/135/2026 | 24 |

The Typist figure includes two backlog vacancies and six new vacancies. The two backlog positions are identified for visually impaired candidates in the Scheduled Caste and Category-2A groups, one in each group. The notification specifies the fallback consideration if candidates with the notified disability are unavailable; applicants should read that condition in the Typist notice rather than treating the backlog seats as unrestricted vacancies.
Category-Wise Vacancy Summary
The table below combines the category totals shown in the four notices. For Typist, it includes the backlog and new vacancies together. Scheduled Caste figures are aggregated here; the other three notices separately identify their SC-A, SC-B and SC-C seats.
| Category | Typist | Typist-Copyist | Process Server | Peon |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scheduled Caste, combined | 2 | 3 | 3 | 5 |
| Scheduled Tribe | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 |
| Category-1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 2 |
| Category-2A | 1 | 3 | 4 | 6 |
| Category-2B | 1 | 1 | 1 | 2 |
| Category-3A | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
| Category-3B | 0 | 0 | 2 | 1 |
| General Merit | 3 | 9 | 12 | 18 |
| Total | 8 | 18 | 24 | 36 |
Women, rural candidates, ex-servicemen, Kannada-medium candidates, project-displaced candidates, persons with disabilities and transgender candidates have horizontal entries in the relevant vacancy rosters. These entries are included within the notified totals; they do not add extra posts.
For disability reservation, Typist-Copyist has one blindness/low-vision seat, Process Server has two blindness/low-vision seats, and Peon has one locomotor-disability seat. The Typist backlog reservation is described separately above. The SC-C seats in the Typist-Copyist, Process Server and Peon notices carry a condition concerning the 59 most backward castes within that category, with fallback consideration under the cited government order.
Important Dates
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| All four notifications dated | 30 September 2026 |
| Notices published on the court website | 1 October 2026 |
| Online applications begin | 7 October 2026 |
| Online applications close | 6 November 2026, 11:59 pm |
| Fee-payment deadline | 6 November 2026 |
| Qualification and age reference date | 6 November 2026 |
| Skill-test and interview schedules | To be communicated through the court website |
Do not wait for a test date to start preparing your application. The notices require eligibility documents to be obtained in the prescribed forms before applying, and certificates must be valid on the closing date.
Educational Qualification and Post-Specific Conditions
| Post | Education | Additional requirement or preference |
|---|---|---|
| Typist | II PUC, or a 3-year Diploma in Commercial Practice, or equivalent qualification | Senior-grade typewriting in both Kannada and English, conducted by the Department of Public Instruction, or equivalent; computer-use knowledge for office work |
| Typist-Copyist | II PUC, or a 3-year Diploma in Commercial Practice, or equivalent qualification | Junior-grade typewriting in both Kannada and English, conducted by the Department of Public Instruction, or equivalent; computer-use knowledge for office work |
| Process Server | SSLC or equivalent | Preference for candidates with a motor-vehicle driving licence, described as HVM/LVM in the notice |
| Peon | SSLC or equivalent | Ability to read and write Kannada |
The typing-certificate grade matters: the Typist notice requires senior grade, while Typist-Copyist requires junior grade. A general typing-speed result cannot replace the prescribed certificate. Similarly, the diploma route names Commercial Practice; do not assume that every diploma satisfies the requirement.
For Process Server, the driving licence is a preference in the notice, not a substitute for the SSLC qualification. The four notices do not prescribe a fixed minimum period of previous employment experience.
Age Limit and the Five-Year Concession
Age is assessed on 6 November 2026. Applicants must have completed 18 years. The category ceilings printed in the notices already show the additional five-year concession as a separate component.
| Category | Ordinary upper limit | One-time concession | Upper limit including this concession |
|---|---|---|---|
| General category | 35 years | 5 years | 40 years |
| Category-2A, 2B, 3A and 3B | 38 years | 5 years | 43 years |
| SC, ST and Category-1 | 40 years | 5 years | 45 years |
The concession is cited under the government order dated 29 January 2026. Separate relaxation provisions also cover widows, disability claims, ex-servicemen and serving government employees under the Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977. The notices do not provide a universal additional number for those groups, so check the applicable rule before combining concessions.
Use the Age Calculator with 6 November 2026 as the reference date, then compare the result with the ceiling for the category you can support with valid documents.
Application Fee and Payment
| Applicant category | Fee |
|---|---|
| General Merit | ₹200 |
| Category-2A, 2B, 3A and 3B | ₹100 |
| SC, ST, Category-1 and persons with disabilities | Exempt |
The prescribed payment channel is State Bank Collect, reached through the link on the court recruitment page. The notices list online methods such as net banking, cards, UPI and QR code. Demand drafts, postal orders, money orders and challans are not accepted.
After payment, complete the required e-verification immediately. Keep the payment receipt and make sure the application number used for payment is correct. Paying the fee without completing the required application steps does not establish a completed submission.
Salary and Service Conditions
| Post | Official pay-scale range |
|---|---|
| Typist | ₹34,100–₹67,600 |
| Typist-Copyist | ₹34,100–₹67,600 |
| Process Server | ₹31,775–₹61,300 |
| Peon | ₹27,000–₹46,675 |
These are the notified pay scales, not a promise of take-home salary. The starting points are ₹34,100 for the typing posts, ₹31,775 for Process Server and ₹27,000 for Peon. The eventual amount credited depends on the applicable payroll components and deductions.
Selected candidates are covered by the National Pension Scheme and serve a two-year probation. The Typist and Typist-Copyist notices also require the prescribed departmental examinations, Kannada-language test and computer-literacy test to be passed during probation.
How Selection Works
Typist and Typist-Copyist
| Stage | Notice requirement |
|---|---|
| Typing skill assessment | Kannada and English dictation for 15 minutes, to be typed using the specified computer software |
| Skill-test marks | 100 marks for each language |
| Minimum qualifying score | At least 50 marks in each language test |
| Interview shortlist | 1:5 per vacancy, following the notified reservation and merit basis using educational and skill-test performance |
| Interview weight | Marks equal to 5% of the maximum marks of the eligibility test, as stated in the notice |
| Final ranking | The notified combination of educational marks percentage, eligibility-test marks percentage and interview marks |
The notices mention software with a keyboard arrangement resembling a typewriter. Prepare for both Kannada and English, and read the actual skill-test instructions when the court releases the schedule.
Process Server and Peon
| Selection detail | Process Server | Peon |
|---|---|---|
| Basis for interview shortlist | Percentage in the prescribed educational examination | Percentage in the prescribed educational examination |
| Candidates called per vacancy | 1:25 | 1:10 |
| Interview marks | 10 | 10 |
| Final selection basis | Interview marks | Interview marks |
| Equal-mark tie | Older candidate placed higher | Older candidate placed higher |
The support-post notices use interview selection rather than the typing skill-test route. Candidates should still ensure that their SSLC marks and qualification claims are entered correctly, because these are relevant to shortlisting.
Photograph and Signature Upload Rules
| File | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Photograph | Recent colour passport-size photograph; white background; JPG; no more than 50 KB |
| Signature | Sign on white paper using a black ballpoint pen; scan as JPG; no more than 25 KB |
| Photograph restriction | Do not sign on the photograph |
Check the size of the final saved file before uploading. The Photo Resizer and Signature Resizer can help prepare your files; check that the final JPGs meet the 50 KB and 25 KB limits respectively. A readable image within the stated limit is more useful than a heavily compressed image whose face or signature has become unclear.
Documents to Arrange
| Document group | What to check |
|---|---|
| Birth and identity | SSLC marks card or birth certificate for date of birth; original accepted identity document for the test/interview |
| Education | SSLC for the support posts; II PUC or the specified diploma/equivalent documents for typing posts |
| Typewriting | Required Kannada and English grade certificates for the chosen typing post |
| Category and income | Prescribed certificates: Form D for SC/ST, Form E for Category-1 and Form F for Category-2A, 2B, 3A and 3B; SC category A/B/C proof when relevant |
| Horizontal reservation | Competent-authority certificates supporting every reservation claimed |
| Rural reservation | Prescribed Form-2 with the required countersignature; General Merit rural applicants also need the specified Form-1 certification |
| Disability and age relaxation | Certificates in the official prescribed formats supporting the claim |
| Conduct | Conduct certificates from two respectable persons obtained within the stipulated six-month period, plus the last educational institution's conduct certificate |
| Application records | Submitted-form printout and fee receipt, if a fee is payable |
If you are already employed, obtain the competent authority's no-objection certificate within 30 days after the selection list is published. Produce it when the recruiting authority asks. Retain the originals, and verify the document requirements in your own post's notice.
If your marks card contains grade points, the application instructions call for a marks-conversion document from the relevant board or authority. Do not enter an informal conversion as though it were an official marks statement. The Government Job Document Verification Guide explains how to organise originals and supporting certificates; the court notice controls the document requirements for this recruitment.
Application Steps
- Choose the post first. Compare your education, typing grade, Kannada ability and category documents with its individual notification.
- Prepare the certificates and uploads. Obtain the required reservation documents before submitting the form; check that they remain valid on 6 November 2026.
- Open the official recruitment page from 7 October. Use the court's application link for the relevant post rather than an unofficial form or payment link.
- Enter marks and personal details carefully. Keep the date of birth consistent with your documentary proof, and provide a working mobile number and email address.
- Claim reservations accurately. The notices require eligible reservation claims to be made together in the application; unsupported claims can affect candidature.
- Upload the photograph and signature. Use the JPG files and maximum sizes shown above.
- Pay and e-verify, if liable for a fee. Use the prescribed State Bank Collect link and confirm the payment details immediately.
- Keep the completed records. Save the application printout and receipt, and monitor the official court website for candidate lists, skill tests, interviews and admit cards.
The notices state that subsequent requests to change entered details such as date of birth, qualifications, reservation or age relaxation will not be entertained. They also warn against multiple applications and state that the last submission is considered when more than one is submitted. Review every field before final submission instead of relying on a later correction opportunity.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many posts are available?
The four notices contain 86 vacancies: eight Typist, 18 Typist-Copyist, 24 Process Server and 36 Peon posts. The Typist total includes two backlog seats.
When can I submit the application?
The stated online window is 7 October to 6 November 2026, ending at 11:59 pm on the closing day. The fee deadline is also 6 November.
Can an SSLC candidate apply?
SSLC or equivalent is the education requirement for Process Server and Peon. Peon applicants need Kannada reading and writing ability. The typing posts have a different education route and require the specified certificates in both languages.
Is the general-category age ceiling 35 or 40?
The notices print 35 plus a five-year one-time concession, giving a ceiling of 40 years for that category. Age is checked on 6 November 2026. The corresponding ceilings including that concession are 43 for Category-2A/2B/3A/3B and 45 for SC/ST/Category-1.
Do all four posts have a written examination?
The selection routes in these notices differ. Typist and Typist-Copyist have Kannada and English skill tests followed by the notified interview and merit process. Process Server and Peon shortlist candidates for a ten-mark interview using educational marks.
Will an admit card be sent separately?
Candidates must obtain the required admit card from the court website. Monitor that website even if an SMS or email does not arrive, because the notices direct candidates to use the published lists and schedules.
